Psychotherapy and Art Therapy
Psychotherapy
Are you unclear about the direction of your life? Are you feeling sad, anxious and overwhelmed? Do you find yourself spending so much time taking care of other peoples' needs that your own needs are not met? Do you feel like you have lost your voice or never really had one? Are you having difficulty in relationships?

We all have struggles at some point in our lives. Asking for help can be difficult. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental therapeutic space to explore the issues that are troubling you. I view the therapeutic process as a journey, accompanying you on your unique path and supporting you in ways that address your specific needs.

Art Therapy
Have you tried talk therapy and just don't seem to have the words to express how you feel? Or talk therapy does not seem to be helping? Looking for a different way to explore and understand yourself and your feelings?

Combining art making with psychotherapy, the creative process can be used as a pathway to explore current struggles and gain a deeper understanding of oneself.

There are many ways to use the art process and together we will explore the various options and decide what works best for you. All that is needed is a willingness to explore!

About Me
I am a Licensed Art Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychoanalyst and have been practicing for over 20 years. Having been through several trainings, combined with my years of experience, I have come to believe that every person is unique and there is no 'one size fits all' approach to helping people. I view my role as accompanying a client on their journey, collaborating to find ways that are helpful for their unique situation. I listen to what the client's lived experience has been, what coping skills were developed that may no longer be helpful, what are they struggling with, or what is getting in the way of living the life they want.
My experience includes inpatient psychiatric settings with children and adults, domestic violence shelters, cancer support services, outpatient mental health clinics and private practice. I draw from many types of approaches such as person-centered, trauma-informed, humanistic, existential, and sensorimotor art therapy. I have a special interest in using the art process to help one express feelings when there are no words and as a sensorimotor approach to help people connect with their bodies and inner wisdom. I also have an interest in helping people connect with their 'inner artist' and exploring creativity for wellness.
